Large single flower with a raised golden center Large flower is 30cm in diameter

 The petals bloom and spread out like lotus flowers

There are 100-200 golden stamens in the center!

What is the color of the flower?

White, Peach (pink), Crimson (red)

How many varieties are there?

Currently, there are about 30 varieties confirmed.

History of Higo Peony

Higo Peony has the longest history of the "Higo Rokka"
1751-1763 Cultivated in "Banshien" for medicinal purposes → Ornamental
1795 "Peony Flower Review": Samurai Nakase Sukenoshin (pen name Hakucho(White Butterfly)) Completed the cultivation method, appreciation method, and flower bed making style
(1826-1860) "Hanaren" is born. Breeding and creation of new varieties are active
1900-1910s About 500 varieties ⇒ After that, about 100 varieties
1939-1945 World War II ⇒ Many varieties disappeared
1970s Cultivators actively interact with each other as a preservation society "Hakucho-kai" (Currently inactive)
Several successors cultivate the plants and protect the pure varieties!

How to make the flowers bloom big?

Peonies have long roots. Replant every few years. Sunny, Good soil. Fertilizer and watering are also important.
It is difficult to grow in a pot!
It is best grown in a flower bed!
